Born in 1958 in Belgrade, Professor Dr. Aleksandar Ljubić is the specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, co-founder of Vincula Biotech Group and BioCell Hospital in Belgrade. He completed his basic, specialist and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade.
Prof. Dr. Ljubić received his postgraduate education in the USA, Japan, Great Britain, and Greece. He worked for more than 25 years at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Clinical Center of Serbia, as a Doctor, Deputy Director and Director, and also at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade since 1995. as an Assistant and Associate Professor.
Prof. Dr. Ljubić was a leading researcher in 12 domestic and international scientific projects, he published more than 500 publications – peer-reviewed journals – 73 with a Citation index – 1294 and an H-index of 18. Prof. Dr. Ljubić was the co-founder and first Medical Director of the first Serbian private health platform Medigroup, founder and president of the Serbian Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, founder and Director of the Serbian Inter-University Ian Donald School for Medical Ultrasound and Deputy General Secretary of the World Association for Perinatal Medicine. He is a fulltime Professor at DIU (Dubrovnik International University Libertas). He was also a visiting professor at Weill Cornell Medical School-USA and Deputy General Secretary of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine WAMP. Prof. Dr. Ljubić is the founder of BioCell Hospital and Co-Founder and President of Vincula Biotech Group.
During the past 30 years, Prof. Dr. Ljubić has successfully performed tens of thousands of IVFs, deliveries and treatment of high-risk pregnancies. His main areas of research are biotechnology in reproductive and perinatal medicine, biological and regenerative medicine, assisted reproduction, minimally invasive reproductive surgery, as well as tumor biology. He is a pioneer in ultrasound-guided invasive procedures in fetal medicine, direct maturation of fetal lungs, inventor of prenatal hearing screening methods, as well as non-surgical treatment of fibroids and advanced NOTES laparoscopic procedures. Prof. Dr. Ljubić is the founder of the Gonada Regeneration Program – SEGOVA, as well as the longevity program SEMPER RB.
Prof. Dr. Ljubić participated in many international and domestic congresses and symposiums. He is the organizer of numerous congresses in the field of gynecology and perinatal medicine and editor and co-editor of several scientific journals. He was the president of the XIII World Congress of Perinatal Medicine. Prof. Dr. Ljubić is the recipient of numerous awards such as the Section for Perinatal Medicine SLD, the Section for Gynecology and Obstetrics SLD, the Association for the Application of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Yugoslav Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians. He is also the winner of the Investigator Award – XIII -Trophoblast Conference Rochester-USA (1992), Belgrade October Award for Science (1993) and Sir William Lilley Award (WAPM) (2017).
Prof. Dr. Ljubić is the editor of several journals: The Ultrasound Review of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Obstetrics and Gynecology Communications; Acta Infectologica Yugoslavica; Medical Research; Ultrasound; Mama; Acta Medica Saliniana. Frontiers in Reproductive Medicine. He is an associate member of the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine; he was the President of the Republic Commission for in Vitro Fertilization and Perinatal Medicine.
